Welcome!
Our Mission: To make the photographer a better naturalist and the naturalist a better photographer.
The Naturalists’ Camera Club of Toledo (NCCT) was formed in 1961 by members of the Toledo Naturalist Association to assist the naturalist in becoming a better photographer and to help the photographer become a better naturalist. The NCCT is dedicated to nature photography and the natural environment ~ flora, fauna, landscapes, and seascapes. The NCCT seeks to improve members’ skills through programs and field trips.
The NCCT meets the second Sunday of each month at the National Center for Nature Photography in Secor Metropark (see map inset below). Meetings begin at 2:00 p.m. and are open to the public. The meetings generally include:
1) Nature Notes (comments from members of recent nature observations).
2) Assigned nature topics. Members and visitors are invited to bring their images to share. Images may be individual JPEG files, PowerPoint, or video files. They can be on a USB flash drive, SC card or CD/DVD.
3) Formal presentations by guest speakers and NCCT members.
The NCCT has several informal field trips each year where members and guests meet at local areas of natural interest. Field trips give members the opportunity to photograph a variety of plants, animals and landscapes. New members and guests are welcome at these outings. Members are always willing to share their expertise.
In the past, the NCCT has had an annual trek to an area of great natural beauty. In recent years, the group has travelled to the Maine Seacoast, New York's Finger Lakes region, the Grand Traverse area and Wisconsin's Door County. Please refer to the Schedule tab for upcoming field trip announcements.
Guests are always welcome!
